This study aimed to assess the impact of employee empowerment on
business organizational performance specifically in SMEs in Palompon, Leyte.
Employee empowerment is crucial for enhancing engagement, motivation,
and job satisfaction, ultimately leading to increased productivity and
innovation. Empowered employees are more likely to take initiative, make
decisions, and contribute creatively, fostering a positive work culture and
driving success. In this study, owners and employees were the respondents to
gain insights into their perspective on employee empowerment practices and
their impact on organizational outcomes. The data collection method
included a carefully structured questionnaire consisting of a structured survey
and semi-structured interviews. The quantitative data were analyzed using
descriptive statistics, while qualitative insights were analyzed thematically.
Based on the findings, there were reported enhancements in financial
performance indicators, further supporting the positive correlation between
employee empowerment and improved overall performance. Additionally,
the perceived impact of employee empowerment on productivity, efficiency,
and customer satisfaction was generally high among respondents, with
Pearson's correlation coefficients ranging from 0.7 to 0.9, indicating strong
relationships between these variables. Therefore, this study provided
valuable insights into the relationship between employee empowerment and
organizational performance in SMEs in Palompon, Leyte. The positive
perceptions and reported improvements in organizational performance
underscore the importance of employee empowerment initiatives. Overall,
the findings highlight the significance of empowering employees to drive
business success and competitiveness. Future research can explore different
dimensions of employee empowerment and its impact on organizational
outcomes in diverse industries and regions, further enriching our
understanding of this critical aspect of business management.
