Mobile learning has become a preferred learning technology for tertiary education
students where most of the students are smartphone users who can access to
offline and online academic-related activities. The purpose of this study is to
determine the perception of the students on the use of mobile learning amidst the
pandemic. This study is a descriptive survey design where it used cluster sampling with
715 college students from different external campuses as respondents of the study.
Data gathering was done through Google Forms. Descriptive measures and a chi-
square test of association were employed in the analysis. Findings show that
students were Android users where they spent four to seven hours on mobile for
academic purposes. Students use Facebook, Google+, and YouTube but they are not
interested in Twitter, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. Further, more than half of the
students agreed that mobile learning provides them the flexibility to study, supports
them in finding study materials, helps them improve their knowledge in their field of
study, helps them learn in a variety of ways, and provides access to a variety of
learning fields. Lastly, college students believe that the use of social media
applications on mobile phones enhances educational success. The use of mobile
learning is recommended as a flexible learning tool even ifthe pandemic ends.
