This study investigated the employability of Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED)
graduates of Palompon Institute of Technology-Tabango Campus from 2014 to 2024. Employing a
descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 70 respondents using the Commission on Higher
Education (CHED) Tracer Study Questionnaire. The study examined demographic characteristics,
employment status, licensure and certification, job search duration, curriculum relevance, and industry
alignment. Results revealed that most respondents were female (74.29%), single (71.14%), and residents
of municipalities (95.71%). The employment rate reached 74.29%, with 59.62% employed in the public
sector. A majority (64.29%) had passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), while 18.57% held
National Certificate II. More than half of the respondents obtained employment within six months of
graduation. However, 40% indicated that the curriculum was not relevant to their first job, and 25.71%
remained unemployed at the time of the survey. Employment was predominantly aligned with teaching
(84.62%), while only 15.38% engaged in non-teaching roles. These findings highlight the effectiveness of
the BTLED program in preparing graduates for teaching careers but also reveal limited opportunities in
non-teaching and industry-based occupations. The study recommends curriculum enhancement, stronger
school-industry linkages, and improved career services to broaden graduates' employability and
adaptability in a dynamic labor market.
