Assessment of the Water Quality of Wells in Los Baños

The water quality of wells in Los Banos was monitored during wet and dry seasons using the 65 and 54 samples collected, respectively. These samples were analyzed for the physico-chemical and microbiological parameters set by the DOH-Phil. National Standards for Drinking Water (DOH-PNSDW). Based on the results, during the wet season, only 20% of the wells were fit for drinking while for the dry season, only 12% of the samples wells were safe for human consumption.

Remarks
The research outputs were presented to the LCE, Barangay Chairmen and the LWD for their appropriate action. The result of this study became the basis of the LGU in their water sanitation projects and was considered by LWD in providing a common access point for the communities with households not yet being serviced by them.
