The Boost Our Fruits program is a four year-10M peso research program jointly funded by Batangas State University (BatStateU) and Department of Agrarian Reform. It aims to enable farmer-cooperatives to establish their own fruit processing enterprises in Batangas. BatStateU is the major implementing agency of the program. Part of the program is the development of technologies for the production of seven products produced from locally available fruits such as atis, guava, Indian mango and tamarind. These technologies were developed by the faculty researchers of BatStateU and transferred to the five selected farmer-cooperatives through series of trainings and production runs. Soft loans were also given to the four selected cooperatives for their capital while cooperative was given the necessary equipment for fruit processing. Packaging materials and design were also developed by the researchers.
