The main goal of this project is to develop a hydrophonic vertical farm that uses optical fibers for the distribution of natural light to each growing unit.
Identify the light, spacing and clearance requirements for indoor cultivation of tomatoes, and lettuces in a hydrophonic system; design and development of a fiber optics light distribution system for a hydrophonic growing unit; analyze the quality of yield based on morphological attributes (i.e weight of crops, greenness of leaves and/or shininess of fruits) of the plants grown in hydrophonic system; develop a cost and return analysis in implementing vertical hydrophonic farming
