The general objective of the study is to design and implement an SMS-based Rainfall Monitoring System using Automated Rain Gauge with GIS Mapping System.


Specific: Evaluate the existing rainfall monitoring systems and compare its advantages and drawbacks; design and develop an SMS-based rainfall monitoring system using an Automated Rain Gauge with GIS Mapping System taking into account the necessary design considerations which include the following: availability of local components, circuit design and hardware layout and software development; develop the Geographic Information System (GIS) showing real-time data acquisition of each module located at different municipalities of Batangas; test and evaluate the system and determine if functionality, robustness, operational compliance and practicality; Install the prototypes to the selected municipalities considering the proper interfacing for its functionality.
