he study aimed to determine the level of self-esteem and level of life satisfaction of individuals with physical impairment. The study also determined the profile in terms of sex, age, educational attainment, and type of impairment. Moreover, the researchers sought to find out relationship between the profile and level of self-esteem, relationship between the profile and life satisfaction and the relationship between the level of self-esteem and level of life satisfaction. The study employed the descriptive method of research. It also utilized Rosenberg’s self-esteem scale and Diener’s satisfaction with life scale. The respondents were individuals with physical impairment in selected barangays in Batangas City of different ages ranging from 18-57 years old. The statistical tools utilized in the data analysis were percentage, relative frequency, and chi-square. Based on the findings, majority of the respondents were high school male adolescents with orofacial deformity. Most of the respondents had average level of self-esteem as measured by Rosenberg’s self-esteem scale and were dissatisfied with their life. There was significant relationship between sex and level of self-esteem and significant relationship between educational attainment and level of self-esteem. There was significant relationship between educational attainment and level of life satisfaction and significant relationship type of impairment and level of life satisfaction. There was significant relationship between level of self-esteem and level of life satisfaction. The researchers recommend that respondents engage themselves to activities that will expose them to more challenging and fruitful experience for them to meet society. The local government should provide some job opportunities that should also be opened to the physically impaired individuals like wood crafting, making household accessories and furniture, sewing, and food making, and other food products that can be sold, and government association like PCSO or DSWD should provide more financial funding to the special institutions like Tahanang Walang Hagdanan for rehabilitating the disabled. The researchers recommend that these individuals be given equal opportunities in seeking a job and be treated equally as a normal individual. The researchers also recommend the College of Nursing to pursue active participation of the students in programs directed to increase the welfare of physically impaired individual such as Operation Smile.
