As cited in the webpage of Philippine Red Cross, in its continuous efforts to serve the increasing demand for blood in the country, the PRC Blood Services conducts voluntary blood donor education and recruitment to communities, different companies, or organizations and school nationwide. This study used the descriptive research method to focus on the insights of residents about blood donation from selected barangays in Batangas City; namely Dalig, Gulod Labac and San Pedro. The researchers constructed survey checklist was used as the main data gathering instrument in the study. Respondents were 750, comprising of 250 respondents per barangay. Statistical tools used in the study were frequency, weighted mean, percentage, rank T-Test and One-way ANOVA. Findings revealed that majority of the respondents were in the age bracket of 18-25 years old, females, Roman Catholic with the weight of more than 50 kg. Results show that respondents have an average level of insight about the blood donation program, “Color It Red,” in terms of its importance, benefits and the requirements for participation. Results showed that profile variables have significant differences in relation to insights of respondents. Recommendations stated that all members of the community must be encouraged to build correct insights about blood donation to make them knowledgeable and capable of sharing learned knowledge to other people so as to help in facilitating assistance to patients in need of blood donation for them to understand they have a capacity to help save lives through conducting health education to communities. Health teachings reiterating that blood giving will also be beneficiary to their health will also be given emphasis. A similar study may be considered for continuous evaluation and assessment on the insights about blood donation.
