The study assessed the competencies of BS Accountancy graduating students matched with the industry needs. The researchers made use of the descriptive method to determine the significance of competencies acquired by BS Accountancy graduating students of Batangas State University and the industry needs. The study covered 124 fifth year accountancy students and 266 questionnaires distributed to the industry. The result of the study will aid on the proposed inputs to the BSA program to improve the competencies of the students. The study aimed to determine the distribution of the two group of respondents according to profile, which used the percentage and frequency distribution. The second objective determined the typical responses of BS Accountancy graduating students and the industry needs in terms of managing self, communicating, managing people and tasks, and mobilizing innovation and change using the weighted mean. The study also aimed to determine whether there was a significant difference on the students’ and industry’s assessment when grouped according to profile; and determine a significant difference between the responses of two groups of respondents. In analyzing the data gathered, various statistical tools were used such as independent t-test and one-way analysis variance. Findings revealed that majority of the student-respondents were female and had a cumulative general weighted average ranging from 1.76-2.00. In terms of length of operations, the majority of the industry-respondents were operating for 16 years and above. The results of the study showed that students agree that they are competent with a composite mean of 4.24 and 4.21 in terms of managing self and communicating, respectively, while the industries strongly agree that it is strongly needed with a composite mean of 4.65 both in terms of managing self and communicating. In terms of managing people and tasks and mobilizing innovation and change, the results showed that students agree that they are competent with a composite mean of 4.21 while the industries strongly agree that it is strongly needed with a composite mean of 4.60. No significant difference was determined on the students’ assessment on the competencies when grouped according to sex. On the other hand, a significant difference was determined on the students’ assessment when grouped according to general weighted average in terms of managing self and communicating and mobilizing innovation and change. It was also revealed that the industry’s assessment on the competencies does not present a significant difference in each competency when grouped according to length of operations. The researchers found out that there is a significant difference on the assessment of two groups of respondents on the competencies of BS Accountancy graduating students which means that the responses of the two groups were unmatched.
