Rapidly growing global population and expansion of urban development are biggest causes of paralysis in agricultural sectors. Hence, failure on funding and failure of political will are the secondary causes. Agriculture is very important to every human. It is the main source of food and crops for their daily need. Agriculture plays a critical role in the entire life of a given economy. It is also the backbone of the economic system of a given country. On August 7, 2000, Los Baños was declared to be the “Special Science and Nature City of the Philippines” by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 349. It was signed by then President Joseph Estrada. The Proclamation is in recognition of the town’s important contribution in country. It has remained the country’s hub of science and nature with the presence of national and international research institutions collaborating towards the advancement of science research in view of preparing the country for global competition. On the other hand, Republic Act No. 8435, Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act of 1997 is an act prescribing urgent related measures to modernize the agriculture and fisheries sectors of the country in order to enhance their profitability, and prepare the said sectors for the challenges of the globalization through an adequate, focused, and rational delivery of necessary support services, appropriating funds therefore, and for other purposes. Consequently, Agriciencia Museo is very appropriate in the situation of Los Banos, Laguna being a “Special Science and Nature city”. This proposed project intends to provide benefits to the users or practitioners to enhance their skills and knowledge regarding agricultural science, to contribute to the agricultural and tourism program of Los Banos, Laguna, to encourage the local community to preserve the agricultural lands, to provide more job opportunities, and to help advance the agricultural technology especially in the Philippines.
