The Philippine Government mentioned the urgency to create sports facilities, stadiums, athletes, and coaches’ quarters. Thailand has 69 stadiums with the National Stadium in Bangkok as the biggest that can accommodate 65,000 people. It also has stadiums with 30,000 seating capacities and 12 with 20,000 to 25,000 seating capacities. The Rizal Memorial Stadium was built in 1934 and was used in hosting the 1954 Asian Games and the 1981, 1991, and 2005 Southeast Asian Games. It can accommodate a maximum of 20,000 people. Rizal Memorial Sports Complex is already congested and is not suitable for the training of the athletes. The athletes in the country lack in nutrition, and even physical and mental conditioning because of insufficient sports training facilities in the country. The PSC has revived the Philippine National Games, Batang Pinoy, and other sporting events in an effort to discover fresh talents. PSC Chairman said the training of an athlete must start as early as possible. Thus, this proposal entitled, “A.C.E – Athlete Academic Center of Excellence,” is a Proposed Sports Institute in Alfonso, Cavite which intends to provide modern facilities that will help the development of young Filipino athletes and sports enthusiasts with its flexibility characteristics. Hence, creating a Sports Institute in the Alfonso, Cavite will boost the tourism, economy, and education of athletes in the country. With modern sports facilities and institute, the local government unit or the national government can help in producing competent athlete and coaches that can be at par with global standards. The proposed project will also have other amenities, including archery multipurpose gymnasium, athletes dormitory, administration building, sports science building, recreation hall, mess hall, school building, library, weight training building, and conference/ seminar hall.
