3D mapping is the process of three-dimensional projection imagery or geographical scale trajectory. It is done either in objects, areas or geographic platforms. 3D mapping nowadays is used to visualize objects for its detailed surface and appearance. It is also used in analysis and studies of certain areas such with hazard and non-passable terrain for human. 3D mapping is performed with different kinds of sensing components. These are lasers, camera, infrared, and electromagnetism, thermal and sound sensing components each performing differently in the field of 3D mapping. This study entitled “3D Mapping Payload Using Echolocation for Parrot AR Drone 2.0” was aimed at designing and developing a 3D mapping payload to be integrated to Parrot AR Drone 2.0 usingecholocation. Consideration for the specification of electronic components, system housing, and weight limit were given analysis and comparison to construct the appropriate hardware for the intended process. The researchers review studies on theories and research studies relevant to 3D mapping to deepen understanding on the process of 3D mapping. The proponents designed and developed the 3D mapping payload considering its functionality and accuracy. Data for this study were obtained through several testing and evaluation of the payload. The testing process and the testing results of the 3D mapping payload was recorded in this document by presenting the data and analysis of each test conducted. The methods and procedures discussed were also implemented in order to come up with the desired results.
