This study intended to conduct a sensitivity analysis at the corn sorting line at Prifood Corporation located at Paciano Rizal, Calamba Laguna as part of productivity improvement. The process involved in the production is the corn sorting process which aims to effectively remove both typical and challenging defects such as black tips, spots, discoloration, rotten pieces, split seeds, unwanted foreign grains, sticks and stones by using corn sorter machine. By means of interviews and surveys with the management and workers, the researchers had assessed the existing production process, identified problems, and found out that the production target output was unattainable. In corn sorting process, man power has no time standard stated. Not as the machine that had been set and produce as what we wish to. Another factor which affects the production rate is the raw material, operation cost, work force and others. All of these factors affect differently to each other considering time which is the most important element in this rate. The researchers proposed to conduct a sensitivity analysis to investigate several options for assessing the corn sorting process and be able to choose particular parameters that will help the company’s productivity. Apart from that, an improved production layout was proposed for a better production as part of the action necessary for the improvement. The researchers conducted observation and time study that will further support the contents of the study.
