Thermal Insulators are indispensable for people to have a pleasant place to work on. This experimental study aims to build up a thermal insulator utilizing ecological materials explicitly with the coco coir fiber from the coconut fruit and used polypropylene drinking straws. The researchers led to a supposition that all materials have a property to insulate heat and a material with low thermal conductivity is an ideal insulator. Observing the physical properties of the coco coir fiber being a component material incorporation with the polypropylene used straws being commonly named as plastics gave an idea to the researchers to make these materials the core component of a product that can be used as a thermal insulator. To see the performance of the innovated product, the researchers came up with property performance tests, to assess its effectiveness, such as its ability to insulate heat, its resistance to flame and its ability to absorb moisture. In order for the researchers to arrive to a reliable conclusion, the researchers used the comparative method of the study and experimentation. Results were found to be very close to the performance of the insulation foam and made the researchers conclude that the test performed were favorable to the coco coir fiber and polypropylene drinking straws. However, the innovated product should be given a continuous investigation in the application of the materials to
the construction industry since there is no existing thermal insulation standard in the country.
