This study brings us to the realm of the Mamanua people that lived and cultivated the forests of San Francisco, Liloan Southern Leyte. Their indigenous knowledge on hunting, forest regeneration, belief in sacred places and in cutting trees has made their claimed forest with a high biodiversity level. This indigenous knowledge has been a product of their experiences on how to answer problems brought about by their extraction of forest resources and at the same time making sure that they will not run out of resources for the next generations.
