Among the most common causes of mortality are related to motor vehicular accidents. How the survivors recover from the accident is not well documented in literature, hence, the study was conducted. The study aimed to identify the human, vehicle or environmental factors contributory to the motor vehicle accident before, during and after accident using Haddon’s Matrix of Injury Prevention. The most common cause of motor vehicle accidents were due to human factors specifically due to alcohol intoxication and physical impairments. Majority suffered from abrasions and was brought to the hospital for immediate treatment. Results of the study highlight the need for preventive measures including wearing of protective gears and avoiding alcohol intake when driving.
