This study determined the training needs of teachers of the Department of Education
(DepEd), Biliran Division. The study involved 100 Naval State University (NSU) graduates
working in the DepEd. Employing the descriptive survey method proposes a professional
development program for the College of Education of NSU. Respondents function as ordinary
teachers; need skills in planning, and decision-making. The training needs of respondents
were found to be satisfactorily competent in all the domains of NCBTS and the problems met
by the respondents was found out on their subject assignments.
