Plagiarism in student researches had been a common occurrence in colleges and universities. This action research aimed to reduce the levels of plagiarism in the baccalaureate researches in the College of Education of the Palompon Institute of Technology, Palompon, Leyte, Philippines from the School years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. In SY 2016-2017, suspected sentences from their manuscripts were pointed out and students were asked if they had copied and pasted them directly from their sources. During the first quarter of the following semester, new guidelines for quality assurance had been approved for baccalaureate researches. It states that a certification from Grammarly in-charge that the manuscript passed a standard of originality aside from the certificate of editing by the duly designated human editor. Results show that the level of plagiarism decreased from the proposal hearing to the final defense. Also, the level of plagiarism in the clean copies of the researches during the implementation of new policies is much lower than the previous school year. It is therefore concluded that the new policies are effective in decreasing the plagiarism levels in the student researches and continuing the implementation of the policies on plagiarism is recommended.
