This research aimed to determine the natural and anthropogenic influences on landmark trees as input to strategic intervention for sustainable resources management. Descriptive method was employed and data were obtained through review of existing documents, interview, field survey and observations.

Mensuration data formed part of the quantitative information. It was found out that there are eight (8) trees belonging to Family Anacardiaceae, Fabaceae and Lamiaceae which were identified as landmark trees. The trees were located in a natural resort, resort, school campus, church, roadsides and home gardens. They have ecological, cultural and economic values to the community. One of the subjects is a vulnerable species and others were of least concern and not yet evaluated. Injuries and damages were noted caused by natural and anthropogenic influences. There were adopted local community strategies to conserve the species although others were not subjected to any of the local approaches. Strategic interventions were proposed to address the current concerns of the landmark trees which include tree health management and their official declaration as heritage trees. A concrete inter-agency conservation plan for landmark trees may be prepared by the local authorities and other stakeholders
