The lack of available instructional materials for Commercial Arts 1 course intended for the Drafting students of the Bachelor of Technology and Bachelor of Technical and Vocational Teacher Education hinders the realization of the of the course objectives in terms of contents and skills standards. This descriptive- developmental study evaluated and tested the acceptability of the developed worktext in Commercial Arts 1. The purposively chosen Drafting professors/ instructors and student users evaluated the worktext in terms of objectives, contents, activities, presentation and style, organization, creativity and evaluation; including accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness. Results show that the worktext is valid and reliable as shop instructional material and can significantly improve the performance of the students in the course.
The main objective of the study is to develop and validate the case modular approach as an instructional material in abnormal psychology. Also, the study has the objective of finding the effectiveness of the instructional material through the scores of the students who used the case modular approach as an instructional material in abnormal psychology. The study is anchored in the Functional Context Theory of Sticht (1987), it stresses that learning has everything to do with a person’s environmental influences. Instead of developing in life’s predetermined stages, instructional strategies must be developed that are based on their relevance to the students and their own personal experiences (Sticht, 2000).
The evaluation of the faculty who are the Psychology professors and the students to the module in terms of content, language and grammar, presentation, and publication standards are significantly different. Most of the students’ evaluation are exemplary while the faculty professors’ evaluation is acceptable. However, their evaluation is not different in terms of usefulness and authorship. Thus, the students and faculty evaluation are exemplary
in terms of usefulness and authorship. Moreover, it was revealed in the study that there is a significant difference in the students’ score every week. The difference is sometimes higher that previous week and in some weeks it is lower. However, students’ scores do not go below the 60% passing score. There is also a need to copyright the instructional material before it will be produced for use of students. Moreover, the instructional material needs to undergo the intellectual property process where group of selected experts chosen by the intellectual property office of the University will still evaluate the submitted instructional material.
