Tunas are among the commercially valuable species commonly caught and landed in some of the coastal municipalities of Leyte including Mayorga, Dulag and Tolosa. However, information about its value chain in the
province is not yet fully understood. Value chain analysis studies in fisheries is crucial in order to have a holistic
understanding about the fishery’s entire chain, and therefore identify problems and windows for improvement for the
fishery’s maximum competitive advantage. Thus, this study aims to assess the value chain of tuna species landed in
the selected areas of Leyte to provide useful information and sound recommendations that can be used for the
improvement of the tuna industry in the province.
