Biological Control of the Abaca Corm Weevil with Entomopathogenic Nematodes (EPN) (Phase III)

Conducted by VSU , Started on 2021 - Completed on 2025
Ongoing Total Page Views : 2 Total Likes : 1 Unlike

Insect pests can cause severe damage to abaca. Insecticides are primarily used for control for these insect pests. However, the continued use of insecticides could potentially cause resistance to insect pests and cause adverse effects to non-target organisms. Therefore, alternative methods on managing abaca insect that are sustainable should be studied. Banana weevil damage will be assessed by observing the corm periphery and in cross sections at the collar and 5 cm below the collar.
