This project aims to automate the developed solar energy-based evaporative cooling system for intermediate field storage of fruits and vegetables at the Renewable Energy Research Center (RERC). This is to support small and medium-scale vegetable farmers. Specifically, it aims to design a system/setup that could automatically monitor and regulate the dynamics of the cooling process of the evaporative cooling structure for intermediate field storage of fruits and vegetables; develop the software and hardware design specific for the automated evaporative cooling system; conduct a financial and economic analysis; and publish/report every finding produced in the project and to apply the developed device for patent (UM). For the year under review (July 2023–June 2024), the project focused its activities on the installation of the developed software and hardware design of the evaporative cooling structure. Results of the installation are presented in this report.
