The study was conceived through the researcher's desire to address the need for instructional trainers and improve the automotive technology laboratory at PIT. The device could be used as a classroom demonstration unit to develop the knowledge and skills of the students in the principles and operation, wiring installation, and troubleshooting of a typical automotive turn signal and hazard lighting system. Specifically, it aimed to develop an instructional device that conforms to design, performance, and safety; simulate the operation when used as a fault detector; evaluate the device's design, performance, and safety; and utilize the prototype using an
operational manual. The study had two groups of evaluators - automotive technology instructors and students. It employed a quantitative type of evaluation to measure the acceptability of the device. The evaluation tool used was a five-point scale, utilizing the weighted mean and standard deviation as statistical tools. The results showed high acceptability ratings in the three areas of concern - design, performance, and safety. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that the high ratings of the two groups of evaluators confirmed that the device was highly acceptable. This suggests that it contributes to the need for instructional devices and improves the automotive technology laboratory. The study recommends continued development on the design and performance for possible commercialization, and submitting the device to the Utility Model (UM) application.
