One of the essential abilities to be developed and learned as a means of efficient communication is speaking. Many English language learners found it challenging to verbally express their thoughts and ideas. The aim of this study was to investigate the learning experiences of the Senior High School students exposed to the TBLT approach in attaining speaking fluency and confidence. This study adopted the phenomenological research design. Moreover, there were nine (9) students who were subjected to an in-depth semi-structured interview. Qualitatively, the data was analyzed with Colaizzi’s descriptive phenomenological method of analysis. Based on
the interviews and themes gathered, there were challenges, self-confidence, collaborative learning, and improvement of speaking ability that occurred in the implementation of the TBLT approach. A training design was recommended in order to improve the speaking fluency and confidence of the students through the use of the TBLT approach.
