School heads are leaders in the school and the society, making the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH) important in training and developing them. This study looked into the curriculum of the Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management of the Palompon Institute of Technology to see its relevance to the demands of being a school head as identified in the PPSSH. It determined the extent of alignment of PPSSH with the competencies of the PIT MAEd-EM through documentary analysis of the foundation and major courses by curriculum mapping. Results reveal that the curriculum has alignment with all PPSSH
domains and 33 out of 34 strands and is very skewed. They also show that many learning outcomes only hit the strands generally, with majority of the domains with too few learning outcomes and subjects developing them and are not specifically included in the said outcomes. This low level of alignment shows the need to remap the curriculum of the MAEd-EM to balance the number of strands to be developed in the different courses and to assure that enough learning outcomes adequately develop each strand and use the said map in designing each course.
