This study was conducted to mainly assess the implementation of the provisions of MLC 2006, Title 4, as amended in 2016. The implementation on medical care on board ship and ashore, shipowners’ liabilities in the event of seafarers’ occupational accidents, injuries, and disease, health, and safety protection and accident prevention, and social security was assessed by the seafarer-respondents on board bulk carriers of Arctic Shipping Corporation who have been working in the company from 2018-2020 as ratings, junior officers, and senior officers. The result revealed that the majority of the respondents were Junior Officers that constitute 35.6%. All indicators; namely; medical care on board ship and ashore, shipowners’ liabilities in the event of seafarers’ occupational accidents, injuries, and disease, health, and safety protection and accident prevention, and social security were assessed by the three groups of respondents; namely; ratings, junior officers, and senior officers as fully implemented. Empirically, there was no significant difference in their evaluation as evidenced by the result of the hypothesis test. With this, the Arctic Shipping Corporation is compliant in implementing the provisions of MLC 2006, Title 4, as amended, and that the company is focusing on their corporate social responsibility which was confirmed by their award cited by Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) in 2003, as one of the outstanding manning agencies in the country.
