This study examines solid waste disposal practices in five municipalities in Northwestern
Leyte, Philippines. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining
surveys, key informant interviews, and observational studies. The results indicate
inadequate waste segregation, insufficient waste collection frequency, and limited
community awareness. The study recommends improving waste management
infrastructure, enhancing community education, and adopting sustainable practices. The
findings contribute to the Philippine waste management discourse, offering insights into
adopting best practices and innovative approaches.
