If mastery of mathematics is a prerequisite for success in all quantitative pursuits and
careers, then mastery of basic math is especially crucial. This research undertaking aimed
to determine the impact of the literacy program as perceived by the learner-beneficiaries
of the adopted barangay. Specifically, it seeks to determine the numeracy level of the
learner-beneficiaries after the numeracy program. Moreover, it seeks to determine the
learners’ perceived knowledge, skills, and attitudes after the program was conducted.
This paper utilized the descriptive survey method of research using a survey
questionnaire with 16 learners as respondents of the study who are all intermediate
learners enrolled in the numeracy program in 2017. The finding showed that from being
moderately numerate, the numeracy level of the learner-beneficiaries becomes highly
numerate after the implementation of the program. Further, the learners’ perceived
knowledge, skills, and attitudes after the program was conducted indicated that they
strongly agree. It showed that the participants were satisfied with the overall numeracy
program. It is recommended that this program be continued in the community to help
children who have difficulties in reading, writing, and making sense with numbers and
also build programs emphasizing personalization, engagement, and motivation that are
most impactful in elementary mathematics instruction.
